Judith Pillsbury - Herbal Concept Creator and Founding Partner, 1941 - 2007
Judith was one of the founding partners of JP Durga, LLC. She was involved in the healing arts for over twenty-five years. She was trained as a psycho-educational therapist at the Bank Street College of Education in New York. After receiving her Masters degree in education, she spent ten years as a child development specialist and play therapist in hospitals in New York and Los Angeles. She was subsequently director of senior social services for the City of Norwalk, CA, under the auspices of the Department of Aging and, following this, served as director of the Crippled Children's Society (now Ability First) in Claremont, CA. There, she organized and built a prototype outdoor playground for physically challenged children. Her work in hospitals and social service agencies includes non-profit fundraising and grant writing, as well as political advocacy for children and the elderly. Her advocacy for the elderly resulted in a state senate hearing and, consequently, she was chosen as Woman of the Year by a local professional business women's association.
Judith shifted the emphasis of her work in l990 to therapeutic education, personal growth and bodywork. At that time she left the non-profit sector to open her own consulting business. She combined her therapeutic education skills and years of staff growth and counseling experience into a form of educational guidance, which she calls Personal Growth Consultations. Believing that clients also need person-specific information to help them shift through depression, illness, spiritual crises, loss and grief, she employed her clairvoyant skills to help people take a look at personal patterns. Due to her medical intuition abilities, she garnered the respect of physicians, psychotherapists, psychologists and chiropractors, who regularly referred their clients to Judith.
Judith developed her work with the chakras. She saw the auric field and the chakra colors and patterns, and the psycho-spiritual issues they represented, and sketched these for her clients during sessions. She developed her own body/mind emotional release work technique, which she called IntuiTouch.™
Her one-day workshops included such topics as: Developing Intuition, Hands on Healing with Meridians and Chakras, The Human Chakra System and The Truth About Exceptional Human Experiences.
